The Pratham home stay located at Moulangi in Joida taluka started operations in July 2018  and is approved by the Karnataka Tourism Department and operated by Mr. Datta Mahaling. The owner of the home stay stays a call away and the guests are attended well and made to feel at home. A total of five rooms have been built and each one of them is spacious and lies in the midst of agricultural land and one can see the forest from the place. It has huge bathrooms and fitted with all modern amenities and covered with Mangalore tiles to cool the place. There is also a common bathroom in the courtyard and the home stay is designed around a water fountain. The guests can stay at ease and they are provided with excellent facilities once they check in. The place has ample parking space for six cars, two buses and also for two wheel vehicles.

The home stay touches Barchi stream for 150 feet, it has a golghar built at a vantage point and the  stream merges with river Kali ahead (Sangam). The golghar offers amazing views and has seating arrangement for five tables and can accommodate a sizeable number of people. The guest once inside the premises is assured of lots of activity and they can play carrom board; sharpen his/her shooting skills on the soft archery board from a distance of 10 feet and there’s also a dart board at the same distance. They can also play turn ball where two people can swing at a fixed ball tied to a pole with racquets in your hands till they are tired. The guest can take a walk in the jungle and are taken for two kilometres and a fire camp nearby the golghar adds a touch of grace and charm to the evening. One can have his/her morning/evening tea/coffee at the golghar enjoying the cool breeze blowing from the stream.

Breakfast and tea served along with lunch and dinner and the tourist can choose from vegetarian, non vegetarian dishes and in the evening the water fountain is lit up and it adds charm to the night at the  home stay. The visitor can sit around the fire camp and spend quality time and quieter evenings to make their trip a memorable one.

Breakfast: Pohe, upma, bread omelette, bread jam, plain dosa, idli, idli wada, puri bhaji, pasta, noodles, missal pav, pulao and finally chitra anna (lemon rice).

Lunch (Vegetarian): The guest can choose from an assortment of dishes and eat it with chapati. The dishes include: dal fry, dal tadka, dal kolhapuri, dal palak, mix veg, paneer masala, paneer tikka, paneer tikka, choley masala, moong, masoor, vatane, steam rice, ghee rice, jheera rice, kushka rice, curd rice, plain rice, veg biryani and lemon rice.

Lunch/Dinner (Non Vegetarian): Chicken gravy, chicken sukka, grill chicken, chicken hyderabadi, chicken kolhapuri, chicken pepper, chicken curry, chicken biryani  and dum biryani also served.

Some guests have their own food preferences and follow strict dietary rules and they can cook their own food and the necessary food materials provided from the store room and is available  24 hours. For a group of eight people around Rs 2000/- charged per day. The people of some communities cook their own food and consume chapati  and curd rice by seven PM.

For large groups of 8-10 people Rs. 1800/- charged per person and for five member groups Rs. 2200/- charged per person. The home stay offers packages for Rs 3000/- per person and includes boating, jungle safari with accommodation and breakfast, lunch and dinner included in it and the guest can make enquiries and check the website before booking the place.

*The guests should have a safe trip and should not get into adventures of their own or enter the Barchi stream.

*No fish and mutton served, it is prepared only after an Order is placed and the payment made in advance.
